Familar and Fresh
An eventful week in tennis ended with the familiar face of Novak Djokovic and the fresh face of Dinara Safina in the winners' circle at Rome and Berlin. Djokovic re-established his claim as the strongest player of the year so far, winning his third title of the season and his first Masters event on clay. Afterwards, he charmed the crowd with a victory speech in Italian and neatly dodged a request to do one of his famous impersonations. Safina won her first Tier I title to cap a career week that included wins over Justine Henin and Serena Williams. Rome | Berlin
